Technological Overview |
|
Architecture
- All of our new EQWin suite of integrated environmental
software products are fully scalable, Windows-based and
database independent.
- Our multi-tiered, client/server architecture facilitates
efficient multi-user access across both local and global
(LAN/WAN) networks, allowing for both local and/or centralized
database administration.
- EQWin is designed for use on Microsoft NT Servers running
Microsoft Internet Information Server(IIS)
on a TCP/IP network.
- We utilize XML extensively for internal data transfer.
- Our use of COM technology facilitates customized VBA
development.
- Our customers can deploy EQWin Data Manager as a stand-alone
desktop tool or deploy it across their local-area network
(LAN), global/corporate wide-area (WAN) network, or the
Internet, depending upon their individual need.
Database support
- Microsoft's JET database engine (commonly known as Access)
for desktop use
- Microsoft's SQL Server for enterprise-level data security,
integrity, auditability, sharing and scalability.
- Support for Oracle and other popular SQL database management
systems is currently being developed.
Microsoft Excel integration
- EQWin Data Manager is the only data management software
currently available to be dynamically integrated with Microsoft
Excel (Dynamic Connectivity),
due to their use of COM technology. This enables the exclusive
use of Excel as EQWin Data Manager's default input and output
tool.
- EQWin Data Manager is intuitive and easy to use for all
environmental engineers, and allows such users to operate
in a familiar spreadsheet environment for all of their data
import, validation, interpretation, analysis and reporting.
- Note that competing software systems still use Static
Connectivity (export) as the sole means outputting data
to spreadsheet or other third party applications. This static
export system does not detect any changes made to the database,
and therefore does not automatically reflect them in report
updates.
